So I'm just wondering if Fudo is indeed dead. Considering that Ark has decided not to join IRC anymore and Niten's hardly ever around is there any point to continuing with IRC? Last time Niten was online he said he hadn't been around due to not having a computer. Ark's last comment however does concern me:

everything is OK I am just busy with school and i never talk on here anymore anyway

That was what Ark changed the topic to last time he was online.

Considering that it has been a long time since anybody new showed up, most likely due to our bad reputation and treatment of outsiders, maybe we should just call it a day on Fudo.Hell hardly anybody posts on this forum anymore.

Well, I'm always on IRC. I don't know why Niten is never around. And although Reaper is logged in, I don't think he pays much attention to it. So yeah, you're right, IRC is pretty dead. And yeah, these forums are also pretty dead, though not totally. Development of anything Fudo is also all but dead. In fact much of the past functionality doesn't exist anymore. We don't even have a web page ffs.

So, I guess Fudo is dead, at least for now. At the very least its in a coma.

But that being said, I'm still going to idle on IRC. I won't kill the server because no one's using it. And I still do use fudo mail and jabber and probably (hopefully) always will. Who knows, maybe people will get bored again and start developing again.

Some how, I don't think Fudo will ever be what it was. I haven't used fudo services in years.

No, I don't think it'll be what it was again either. Not since people went out and got jobs (r3d3 excluded).

Fudo ain’t dead! Not to me, anyway.

Depends what you consider it to be, I guess. Because of my computer, I have trouble staying on IRC, and yes, these forums are dead (though I’d like to see it alive again)...

But my interest in keeping a few servers around isn’t and won’t wane anytime soon. So they’ll be around. And that’s what I consider to be ‘Fudo’—the network, not the conversations. That’s gonna be around forever, ‘cause I’ll always maintain it.

Hopefully, if we just hang in long enough, it’ll pick up. It’s true, we’re all busy now, and that doesn’t help. But whatever, if it’s ever useful again it’ll pick up.

If the Nazis would let up, I'm sure creative discussion will again flower.

Man, I had no idea choosing to leave IRC for a bit would have such dire consequences. Recently, my internet connection has been really wonky. I'll get disconnected for a minute to 10 mins, several times a day. I'm going to call Shaw about it this evening. Anyway, being constantly disconnected from IRC was annoying for me and you guys as well I'm sure, so, because I figured I hardly talk on there anyway, I was just gonna stop joining IRC unless I was going to actually say something. This coincided with the end of school, which was really hectic and busy for me, so yeah, I was gone from IRC for awhile.

However, perhaps another reason why I left IRC was because I think all of you more or less do what I do. Sit, sometimes say stuff, and perhaps (but not always) get a response. This is a pretty poor way for friendships to go on. Forums are a bit better because yes, they allow someone who doesn't have consant online access to keep in the loop (for instance, niten is now in China. How many of you knew this?). But I found it strange to want to say something, express myself on IRC...and get nothing back. Like I was talking in an empty room. And there's no real reason why this should be. Joker, we live in the same city. Call me, or email me, let's go out for a walk or a bike ride or "coffee" (i know you don't drink coffee anymore, but you know what i mean). Swaff, host a goddamn BBQ already. You bought a new house like, a year ago, and it seems like you'd enjoy a good bbq.

I for one am glad fudo will never be the same. It means we're not the same, which I think is good. I don't long for the days we all sat, bored and unfulfilled at our computers, being silly in a chat room. There were funny times, but overall, it was more of an escape than anything. For me, anyway. I guess what I'm trying to say, is IRC is just one way of interacting with you guys that I outgrew. Hey, maybe if we all ditched IRC, forums would come back. In any case, I still use gtalk a lot, and email of course. I'm also on facebook now, which I'm slowly beginning to hate.

I didn't know Niten was in China!

And I bought the house like 7 months ago, not a year.

Yeah, niten's in China, and there's more. But he should probably be the one to tell people about it.

    Tee hee.

Since Ark has left IRC, I'm leaving the forums. This is my last post ever.

Well, I haven't worked since March 17, and except for the odd trip home to Manitoba (sorry for not callin you guys, family was first) I've always been ready to chat. As for here, I just don't really have much to comment on. Every now and again something happens, like now, that prompts me to make a post. I spend alot of time at the Gym, the range and on WoW.. I do plan to head back to Manitoba here in a week or so, and if I can I'd like to see one or two of you guys. If possible. Daly burger. mmmmmm. .... .... Anyway, just to let you know.

    Ha ha hahah

Fudo does not die, it just sleeps for long long periods of time. Hibernation, it's called.

But recently, Fudo has woken up, and is tromping around the den, putting things in order. Even our homepage is being updated, though crudely, by me, cause i suck at design.

Hey man, it doesn't look that bad. There's a fair amount of badder ones out there.

Honestly, the last few months have picked up for fudo, in more than a few ways. irc really is much more active, and the updates you guys have been fiddling with makes it at least look like somethings happening.

Yeah that's right, slick. Things are actually happening now. I dunno why... but I am certainly doing more than before. And niten, too.

WE ARE NOT DEAD!  Quit spreading rumours!
